Ward Recycling choose Commercial Vehicle Hydraulics for £2m investment in green upgrade for recycling firm

Derbyshire-based metal and waste recycling specialist, Ward, has invested over £2m in upgrading its materials handling vehicles to improve energy efficiency and safety across its 120-strong fleet.

The investment includes 21 new vehicles consisting of roll on/offs, skip and tipper lorries, articulated lorries, numerous trailers and four 8 wheelers designed specifically for Ward Special projects for supporting demolition and construction contractors nationwide. All vehicles are 21’ plate and ordered through local DAF, Volvo and Scania main dealers.

Commercial Vehicle Hydraulics have been awarded 12 Tipper Wetkits over all three chassis manufacturers. The versatility of CVH ensures the correct solution for the Ward application, with the different chassis’ each requires a different hydraulic tank to suit each vehicle layout, add to this CVH’s excellent location should a service requirement ever arise. CVH is the standard fit for Ward’s.

Donald Ward, Operations Director at Ward said: “This is another significant investment and commitment to our ongoing sustainability strategy. We continually review our fleet, moving out older vehicles and bringing in more efficient replacements.”

Carl Hinds, Managing Director at Commercial Vehicle Hydraulics says: “We’re delighted that Ward Recycling has once again chosen CVH for their latest twelve tipper wetkits. With their trucks often having to carry irregular payloads, this is the ideal solution for hydraulic power to tip the load.”
